Tonight was the orientation for the Fort Worth Pregnancy Center. Basically it was all the info I learned when I met one on one with the coordinator, but this time with a few other people. The next thing on the agenda is the 2 day training in the middle of August.
40 Days for Life update- after emailing and calling the contact person on the FW40DFL website I grew impatient and went back to my trusty Google. I found another contact person, and come to find out she was the point person for 2 years ago, and her daughter is this year's point person. She was really excited to hear from me and now I'm just waiting to hear from her daughter.

40 Days for Life
******UPDATE*********
So I was googling trying to find out if anyone had a blog about participating in 40DaysforLife when low and behold I found a FORT WORTH WEBSITE!! I'm not sure why FTW isn't listed on the main website under locations but apparently Fort Worth DOES have a campaign already in place. Hallelujah!!!!
I just emailed them to see how I can help. Man I'm excited!

I was hunting some lions (browsing prolife websites) and came across a really cool campaign called 40 Days for Life. Right away it caught my attention and I thought...yeah, this is something I want to be a part of! So I click on locations, and wouldn't you know it, Fort Worth does NOT already have a campaign in place. The thought immediately popped into my head..."what if I started one here?" Followed by "you are crazy do you have any idea all the work/materials/volunteers/money/time/etc it would take to make this happen?" This is HUGE.
Sigh. I'm not sure if I should try to find an organization that has a person to be the Campaign Director. I just don't think I'm qualified. I was just accepted as a volunteer, but I still haven't actually done anything which means my experience level is zero.
Tuesday I am supposed to go up to the Fort Worth Pregnancy Center to help out with general stuff and talk to some of the client advocates (counselors). Since I haven't had training yet they want me to at least hang out and get a feel for what goes on. I think that would be a perfect time to mention 40 Days for Life and see if they would be interested in being a part.
This is soooo big. My God is bigger. What to do?

I'm In!
Tuesday I got a phone call from the FWPC. My volunteer application process is complete and now it's time to start the many hours of training. The client advocate (counselor) orientation is July 22 and the training is 2 days in August!
